Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
