Aerial Photographs Depict Iranian Naval Forces and Nuclear Locations Struck by Joint US and Israeli Military Action.

A wave of American and Israeli strikes has allegedly eliminated or harmed at least eleven Iranian naval vessels starting the weekend, recently obtained orbital imagery demonstrate, with missile bases and atomic facilities also sustaining hits.

Photographs of the southerly Konarak military port and the Bandar Abbas port facility, which is located on the strategic Hormuz Strait and contains the main command of the Iran's naval force, depict smoke billowing from multiple warships on recent days.

Naval Assets Sustained Substantial Losses

Included in the vessels destroyed was the IRINS Makran, Iran's biggest warship which had served as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Orbital photos indicated thick smoke pouring from the vessel which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Intelligence assessments state that no fewer than five ships at Bandar Abbas were "struck or destroyed". Pictures of the southern part of the port reveal smoke rising from the Makran, while another pair of ships appear to be damaged, with one visibly ablaze.

Over at Konarak, images show several damaged ships, with intelligence reports identifying impacts on a half-dozen warships. Pictures taken on the start of the week also show that several buildings at the base have been destroyed.

"For a long time the Iran's leadership has harassed global maritime traffic," a senior US military official stated. "At present, there is no Iranian ship underway in the Arabian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Sea of Oman, and we will not stop."

Some ships reportedly destroyed may have been obscured in satellite images by haze or plumes, or hit in open waters, and have not been independently verified. Additional information stated that one Iranian ship was going down off the coast of Sri Lanka's territorial waters, prompting a search and rescue mission.

Missile Installations and Atomic Facilities Hit

The destruction of Tehran's launch facilities and the hindering of atomic bomb programs were listed as further goals of the air campaign. Satellite images also showed impacts against the southern Khorgu base and northwestern Tabriz missile facilities, and at the Konarak base, where rocket warehouses and fortifications were hit.

At the Choqa Balk-e drone drone base west of Kermanshah, extensive damage was identified to storage buildings, bunkers and drone launch equipment.

Damage was also noted at a radar installation at the Zahedan airbase military airport in eastern Iran, near the frontier with neighboring nations.

Perhaps most notably, the most recent series of strikes have reportedly focused on facilities at the Natanz complex – long said to be at the center of Iran's nuclear programme. An international watchdog commented that the affected structures were used for access to the site's below-ground nuclear plant and that "no release of radioactive material" was likely.

Broader Fallout and Analysis

Defense experts suggested that the offensive appeared to have "largely neutralized" the Iran's naval capability to sustain traditional warfare using its largest vessels. Nevertheless, it was emphasised that Iran still has the capacity to launch irregular strikes at sea through the use of drones, mini-submarines and its so-called "ghost fleet" of tankers.

The total extent of the damage caused to Iran's defense infrastructure is still uncertain, with hostilities said to be persisting. Pictures also indicates widespread damage to the main offices of the Iran's Revolutionary Guards in the capital Tehran.

A large number of public facilities also are reported to have been struck in the capital and across the country after the fighting started. Casualty figures from inside Iran suggest that a high number of civilians may have been lost their lives in the bombardment.

As the situation develops, review of satellite imagery will persist to assess the evolving military landscape.
