In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden group.
The adventure centers on "strange trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's third free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
